Challenge: Camp NaNo: Day 8: Stalling

Standard

April 8

I’m stalling, and I’m struggling today.  I think I know what needs to be done, but I cannot seem to figure out how to do it or get anyone to commit to doing it.  The moment my pompous henchman offs this woman he loses any hope for the respect or trust of my protagonist.  I sort of hoped that Pompous Henchman was redeemable.

I’ve written a couple different openings to the same scene, and I’m not sure that I’m in love with any of them.

Songs that I’ve been singing: “Oompa Loompa” from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971).  Yeah… I’ve got no explanation for that one….  Pink’s “Just Give Me a Reason,” “A Ring of Stones,” “In Whatever Time We Have,” and “Stranger to the Rain” from Children of Eden.

What else distracted me:  I have many Robin Hood commentaries to catch up on.  Today I did 2 and a quarter.

About Kathryn

My love of books has been carefully cultivated by the adults who raised me and also by the friends who love to share. My life has led me down long library shelves, to online forums, fanfiction sites, the front of a lecture hall, and into the desks of college classrooms. With an English degree and a couple master’s classes in Children’s Literature, I am now a bookseller for Barnes & Noble. I have been an editor for Wizarding Life Networks (the people who brought you Wizarding Life, Panem October, and MyHogwarts now HogwartsIsHere).
